Orange Sky Laundry cleans up
Published on 24 April 2017
To tie in with the relaunch of the Dreams for a Better World program in January 2015 we offered Sunsuper staff the opportunity to nominate charities they care about for the chance to win a grant. The winner was Orange Sky Laundry!
Presenting the cheque from our staff to one of the Orange Sky founders was a wonderful feel-good moment that we’d love to share with you.
Started by two Brisbane uni students with just one van, two washing machines, two dryers and some generous helping hands, the organisation has seen enormous growth in the past 12 months and is now operating five vans across Australia including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast. Orange Sky Laundry is the world’s first mobile laundry service helping make the world a better place for the homeless nationwide.
To Orange Sky’s many grateful clients, clean clothes and a dry sleeping bag make a big difference to life on the streets. The arrival of the van and its volunteers also offers them an opportunity to come down for a chat and get connected to the wider community.
