SisterWorks were a finalist for 2015 in round 3, since then, they have been very busy with market stalls, pop up shops, cooking labs, teaching labs, home parties, school projects and speaking engagements.

Barkuma's Healthy Living Cooking Program, Round 2, 2016 Finalist check in

Barkuma were finalists of Round 2 of Sunsuper’s Dreams for a Better World in 2016. Barkuma are using their $5,000 grant to run their Healthy Living Cooking Program which aims to give those living with a disability the skills to grow their own produce, shop for groceries and prepare nutritious meals.

Women's Legal Service - Round 2, 2015 Finalists check in

Women’s Legal Service Queensland were Round 2 Finalists in 2015 and used their $5,000 Dreams for a Better World grant to launch their helpline, which is now entering its seventh month of operation. To date, the Women’s Legal Service Helpline has been able to assist 4,700 Queensland women who have experienced domestic violence.

Aunties and Uncles - Round 1, 2016 winner check in

Aunties and Uncles were the Round one winners of 2016 for Dreams for a Better World, and have so far won a $10,000 Sunsuper grant. As a result of wining the Sunsuper grant, they have been able to place two new children, who had been on their waitlist for some time.

In Round one of 2015 Dreams for a Better World, Down Syndrome Victoria (DSV) were a finalist for their inspirational idea for an employment program to help people with Down syndrome work in their dream job. As a result of this exposure, many employers had contacted DSV to set up work placement programs.

How to get your dream happening

Submit your dream

Tell us about your dream to help an Australian-based charity, community group or not-for-profit organisation make a real difference in the community. Use photos or shoot a video, and give your dream every chance of winning.

The public vote

Every quarter, six dreams will make the shortlist and the public vote for their favourite dream. The three dreams with the most valid votes are announced as the category finalists and each receive a $5,000 grant.

The judges choose

The judges decide which of the three finalists will be the round winner, to receive another $5,000 and progress to the grand final.

Grand final

Winners from each round attend the Grand Final Awards Night where the annual winner is announced. Each of the four grand finalists will receive an additional grant of up to $30,000. We’ll also announce the People’s Choice grant for $10,000.
