The Nardoo Café will create training and jobs for people living with a disability.
At Community Lifestyle Support (CLS) Enterprises we see our role as helping to make life easier and a little more fun. We provide a wide range of NDIS and allied health services to people living with disability in the Central Queensland Region. At the CLS Community Hub in Bundaberg, we have been working hard to enrich the lives through providing & creating services that inspire & enable people to reach their potential. We run a number of services, but our dream is to build a community café.
The Nardoo Community café will be built by trainees and staffed by people living with disabilities to provide meaningful training and employment opportunities in Bundaberg.
Our café will be a modified shipping container, fit out with an accessible kitchen as well as a fully accessible shaded outdoor eating area. This space isn’t just about selling coffee, it’s about providing meaningful employment for people with disabilities and showing the world that people with disabilities are an asset to their community.
Through a partnership with Reclink Australia and the Queensland Government’s Work Skills Traineeships, this project will provide paid traineeships for 20 people during the construction of The Nardoo Café. Once completed, we will create job opportunities through traineeships in hospitality which will focus on building capacity for people with disabilities to find mainstream employment.
We have a proven track record in the community. For the past two years we’ve partnered with Reclink and delivered traineeships in construction and conservation/land management to 120 people. Over 80% of the trainees have gone on to continued employment or further studies.
We are eager to kick-start our Nardoo Café project but first we need a shipping container. A grant from Sunsuper’s Dreams for a Better World program would help us purchase a 40 foot shipping container for $5,000. If we made it to the finals, the grants would help us modify and fit-out the space ready to serve our local community.
Our dream is to help all Australians with hearing loss feel less isolated and improve their well-being.
We clothe Australians in need and provide an ethical response to fashion waste.
To eradicate middle ear disease in Aboriginal and at-risk children in Western Australia.
Our dream is to give Supertees to every little superhero in hospital all around Australia

Our dream is to be at the forefront of education and research for our bees and community.
